When submitting your application it is important to give as much information as possible about your training and experience in demolition engineering. You should include courses, seminars and conferences that you have attended together with the qualifications gained. It is also helpful to give an outline of the demolition projects in which you have been involved.

Once your completed application form is received, together with the fee (£120) and signature of your sponsor, a Full Member (MIDE) or Fellow (FIDE), it will be placed before the next meeting of the Council of Management.

If successful you will become an Enrolled member of the Institute and will be invited to take the Institute's examinations.

While not mandatory for the basic grade, Enrolled members are urged to to show enthusiasm for continuing professional development by attending Seminars and Regional meetings.

Success in the examination will entitle you to be presented to the Council of Management for election to Associate Member grade. Those so admitted may place AMIDE after their name.

The Institute of Demolition Engineers expects all members to keep their knowledge of demolition science and the industry up to date. Continuing Professional Development is now mandatory for all members above the entry grade. CPD Points are awarded and appraised annually.
